| MODCOMP supports Arvato Systems at archive upgrade |

MODCOMP, a Symantec Silver Partner and leading IT Systems Integrator in Germany, has today announced that Arvato Systems, a global IT consulting firm and provider of hosted Exchange Solutions, has selected the company to assist with a large-scale archive service upgrade. A key component of MODCOMP's solution will be TransVault, a software application from data migration specialists TransVault Software, TVS. The project will involve moving archived data belonging to a customer with 8,000 archives onto the latest version of Symantec Enterprise Vault, which features Symantec's new optimized single instance storage (OSIS) architecture. As well as consolidating the number of archive servers required from 13 regional to just two hosted servers, by using TransVault to migrate legacy data into OSIS, the storage requirements and operational costs will be significantly reduced. The migration process, meanwhile, will be totally transparent to Enterprise Vault users and will avoid any interruption to the archive services. |
